Legendary Jamaican producer, recording pioneer and music entrepreneur, Clement "Coxsone" Dodd established the famous Studio One Studio and record label at 13 Brentford Road, Kingston, in 1963 after making his name in the island's competitive sound system scenario where he would play imported records and exclusively recorded dub plates [originally on 78s] to win over the audiences.
