DENNIS BROWN

Two of the first singles released on the fledgling VP label were Dennis Brown’s “Children Of Israel” and “Emmanuel (God Is With Us).” Dennis Brown was the most popular reggae singer of his generation in Jamaica and would see 13 LPs on VP and five on Greensleeves before his death in 1999 – more than any other VP Music Group artist. VP paid tribute to Dennis Brown in 2016 with an all-star cast of performers revisiting his catalog. With production by Clive Hunt, We Remember Dennis Brown featured Freddie McGregor, Michael Rose, Jah Cure, Romain Virgo, Christopher Martin, Richie Spice, Maxi Priest, Raging Fyah, Jah9, Chronixx, Dalton Harris, and dozens of other veterans and rising stars.

In 2018, Greensleeves released King Jammy Presents: Dennis Brown Tracks Of Life, where new artists voiced over classic Dennis Brown tracks for the iconic producer King Jammy, including Damian Marley, Protoje, Busy Signal, Agent Sasco, and others.
