With over 30 years in the business and an impressive history of hits songs, Beres Hammond has earned his place among the firmament of reggae legends. Just A Man; his second album, reveals an early version of Beres as an R&B/ Disco crooner and quite a convincing one. This 1979 album, produced and recorded with Joe Gibbs contains the collectable UK Soul hit "Do This World A Favour," plus seven other vintage nuggets that treat listeners to a different side of Beres Hammond's roots. This newly re-mastered edition is offered on coloured vinyl and featuring the rare 'Rolls Royce cover art, which has been unavailable for at least 20 years.
Recorded and produced by Joe Gibbs the set is a glimpse of what might have been with an R&B excursion from some of Jamaican reggae's top musical talent including; Willie Lindo (writing and arranging), Errol Thompson (Engineer), Clive Hunt (trumpet), Dean Fraser (Sax), Robbie Lyn (Keys), Mikey Chung (Guitar), Vocalists Prili Hamilton, Pam Hall, Sharon Foster, and Beres top off the set with memorable performances that capture the era in vivid detail.
